The yellow color that emphasizes the related elements (child and room) as a contrast to the dark blue is performed fantastically. This is a classic example of what a cover design should look like that is primarily focused on the target audience. Cover design that awakens the imagination and attracts attention. |

Joel Friedlander: Here’s an equally strong series design for thrillers. Modern sans serif fonts are distressed to add texture, and the visual device of placing a very deep perspective image from the book against the background of the man’s back is artful and creates the kind of visual interest and tension that draws readers in. A series “branding” stripe completes the modern look.

James Willis: Sculpturally interesting and very well controlled. The green is just enough. Despite the complex ornamentation the cover is nicely inclusive; not overly masculine or feminine. Very nice work.

Dan Van Oss: Two well-designed covers that strongly communicate both the genre and the overall series. Nice use of simple, contrasting colors between the model’s dress and the magic swirls, as well as solid fantasy backgrounds that add to the feel. The title font and the elements around them also are solid for the genre, although they feel a little crowded and thin.

Tanja Prokop: This is my favourite cover design in the series. They are all very beautiful as single covers, but as a series, they look amazing!

Joel Friedlander: This effective series design uses strong typography to complement the robust images of fighters. Crushed looks more effective simply because the image is easier to process instantly whereas the triangle created by the man’s arms on Slammed creates some complications.

James Egan: A strong kickoff for the series. Uses a handful of textures and magic effects in a restrained way so as not to distract from the character and title
